New Open Access agreement welcomes University of Cyprus to RSC read and publish community
The Royal Society of Chemistry has announced a groundbreaking Read & Publish agreement with the University of Cyprus, marking the first ever Open Access deal in the country.
The deal will cover an initial one-year period and expand Open Access provision for authors affiliated with the university.
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Cyprus is active in cutting-edge research fields of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry. Some of these notably include chemical biology, supramolecular chemistry, coordination chemistry, molecular spectroscopy, heterogenous catalysis, computational, polymer and food chemistry.
The department’s intensive research activities are aimed at applications in important fields such as health, energy, and the environment. They have also led to a significant production of research publications and successes in national and international research programs.
Royal Society of Chemistry Head of Open Access Sara Bosshart said: “We are proud to welcome Cyprus for the first time, joining the growing number of countries with whom we have an RSC Open Access agreement. Open Access is at the core of our mission to help the chemical sciences make the world a better place and a crucial part of that is providing unrestricted global access to all of the cutting-edge research we publish.
