The Nucleic Acids Group is one of the RSC's many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit RSC members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the RSC's strategy and charter.
The group was formed in 2003, having previously been a special interest group (The Nucleic Acids and Molecular Biology Group) of both the RSC and the Biochemical Society.
Aims
The purpose of the group is to promote the subject of nucleic acids (including aspects of their chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology and biophysics).
Activities
Organising meetings covering topics including:
- Nucleic acid structure
- Ligand-nucleic acid or protein-nucleic acid interactions
- Molecular biology
- Nucleic acids as enzymes
- Tools or therapeutic targets
How to Join
RSC members can join the Nucleic Acids Group by updating their details in the “My communities and subscriptions” tab of the online RSC membership area. Please click here to login and add to your list of Interest Groups.
